Forsyth Forum Conversation Series with Mike Combest – Village of Clemmons

House Bill 765, sponsored by Forsyth County NC House Representative Jeff Zenger, would severely limit local authority over planning and zoning matters. The bill titled “Save the American Dream Act” would change forever the way municipalities make decisions about the future of their communities. It literally would hand the keys to your neighborhood to developers. Winston-Salem, The Village of Clemmons, Lewisville, and other NC municipalities have all voted on resolutions against this bill. On his website, Jeff Zenger says he believes “the role of government should be small, with a focus on local decision-making.” Yet, HB 765 was written with the help of developers–not in consultation with our local elected officials.
